Water Security for All.

UPLB Interdisciplinary Studies Center for Water envisions to be a center of excellence in research, development and extension towards water security for all. The center seeks to generate science-based information for efficient, equitable and sustainable management of water resources. The center’s goal is to sustainably manage water resources for national development through interdisciplinary research, responsive policy, partnership and capacity-building.

Structure

UPLB Interdisciplinary Studies Center for Water is formed through the collaboration of various Colleges/School’s Deans and specialists in the University with a vision to address the water security challenges of the country. The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Extension supervises the development of the Water Center in terms of RDE Agenda on water. A secretariat was formed to ensure pursuance of daily activities and project development of the center.

 

The center is comprised of four committees: (1) Research and Development; (2) Capacity-Building; (3) Communications and Policy Development; and (4) Networking and Partnerships. Each committee has a Chair, Co-Chair and members working with their respective mandates and activities.
